Jeff Green 25 Points Full Highlights (3/23/2019)

The ‘Zards are totally out of the playoff hunt, if you thought that maybe, since the East is so bad, that they were still in it, nope. Not even close. It definitely feels like they have a better record than 30-44 (maybe not to ‘Zards fans), but they don’t, and even with a bunch of cruddy teams fighting for the right to get their dicks kicked in the first round, they’re way behind. I take back what I said about John Wall getting injured making them a better team.

Since the season is basically over for them, and there’s only like 10-ish games left for them, why is Jeff Green still getting major minutes and scoring major points? As far as I could tell, the ‘Zards wanted to win this game, and that’s the answer right there. Tanking isn’t a thing for them, and looking at their roster, there isn’t a whole stable of young talent just waiting for some meaningless March/April basketball to get their confidence up. Nope, this is a whole roster full of iffy veterans (Wesley Johnson is still in the league, people) mixed in with young players who are somehow already journeymen (Jabari Parker will end his career in the NBA having played for every team).

So Green gets to play. And Green gets to score. Credit to the Washington announcers, that dude sounded legitimately excited about how well Green was scoring. In contrast to the crowd at the arena, who didn’t seem that excited, and in greater contrast to ‘Zards fans watching at home, who weren’t watching because why would you watch the ‘Zards at this point?
