There were parts of this game were Devonte’ “Extraneous Apostrophe” Graham was, dare I say it…dominating. For the first six minutes of the second quarter, he took the game over by himself, scoring six points and dropping seven dimes. That’s gotta be one of the best six-minute stretches by a backup point guard in recent memory, and it’s definitely one of the best six-minutes stretches by a third-string PG…ever. Yes, Graham is still the third-stringer even if Tony Parker was out for personal reasons this game.
I carefully analyzed the box-score and did the math. Graham was responsible for 22 points in that stretch of time. The Hornets turned a seven-point deficit into an eight-point lead (which they later squandered, because Graham wasn’t in, duh). This is blowing my mind so hard that I’m afraid to pick my nose like I usually do because there will probably be smudges of my prefrontal cortex on my finger when I pull it out. Was this guy always a hidden Chris Paul buried on the Hornets bench or was this just some fluke that will never be repeated?
Here’s an important question: does this game elevate Devonte’ Graham above Treveon Graham in the OFFICIAL GRAHAMS IN HORNETS/BOBCATS HISTORY POWER RANKINGS? Where does Stephen Graham fit on this power ranking?
