I get the feeling that Wizards fans are tired of Scott “Failed Attempt to Bring KD to DC” Brooks for a multitude of reasons. Add to that list of reasons the following reason: Jordan McRae’s minutes are inconsistent and random despite the fact that he could very well be an elite scorer just waiting to be discovered.
He could also simply be the next Jordan Crawford, a bona fide chucker whose appetite for jacking up shots can never be sated. Do not get Jordan Crawford confused with Jamal Crawford, who also has an insatiable appetite for jacking up shots and is a bona fide chucker, but is also regarded by NBA fans as one of the best sixth-men of all time (of all time!). McRae would need to do some work to get to Jamal Crawford level, but I think he’s already at or past Jordan Crawford level.
Describing him in those terms doesn’t make Brooks look that bad. It actually makes him look good because it means he’s at least somewhat paying attention to things like “efficiency” and “winning players”. But McRae’s short time in the league has told us that he can be efficient with his scoring, so there’s no reason to not play him other than Bradley Beal has to get 39 MPG so Brooks can’t even let other shooting guards see the floor.
I would start a letter-writing campaign at this point to get Brooks fired, but I don’t remember how to address an envelope anymore, so that plan is dead on arrival.
