I’m going to take advantage of my small amount of internet notoriety, and my ability to publish written work that does get read by at least ten people, to call out the people who are in charge of the Clippers’ broadcast: recalibrate the colors on your damn cameras! The Bucks’ court looked way too green for the entire duration of the broadcast. At times you could see it change from seaweed green to leaf green to grass green as they screwed around with the settings, but it never achieved that deep “forest green” color that it is in reality.
Not only was the shade of green on the court way too light, but everybody in the game was walking around looking like they were sick because their skin was a disgusting yellowish shade. I thought Ivica Zubac was going to pass out from infections until I realized, nope, that’s just the wonked-out colors on the broadcast making him look like he’s going to die from the gross yellow bruise that’s covering his whole body.
I’m sure that playing basketball in a reality where the colors are shifted slightly from what you expected would be difficult. However, I’m pretty sure that the cameras were at fault here, and the colors in the Fiserv Forum itself were never actually modified. That is how I understand reality to function. However, you never know what kind of insidious color-control technology Steve Ballmer is in possession of.
Oh yeah, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander channeled his inner Lou Williams to get the fourth twenty-point game of his rookie season. He looked good. His drives were under control, he finished layups comfortably, and his jumper was just as bangin’ as ever. Too bad about all the colors being wrong, though.
