Has Jerryd Bayless always been this… pretty? Look at those eyes. Look at that jawline. Look at that stubble. Look at those pouty lips. The way he’s looking at me in the thumbnail, it’s like he’s about to whisper into my ear “Dee Tee Bee… I want you to make a different kind of highlight video for me…”. And I would refuse because I’m a professional, and I only appreciate his appearance on a neutral, academic level. But I swear he didn’t look like this while he was with the Bucks. I would’ve noticed. I remember him looking more like a bald goblin than some sort of male model.
But back to basketball. There was a whole bunch of stuff that happened at the end of this game, maybe some controversial stuff, but what isn’t controversial is Bayless’ final statline: 17 points, 6 assists. No doubt about it. The most controversial thing he did was step over Quinn Cook after getting fouled, but we didn’t even get to hear about it because we were too busy hearing Adam Silver frantically try to figure out how to get 18-34 year-old males to watch more NBA basketball. Uh, excuse me, the solution is obvious: have them watch DTB highlight videos, and maybe extend an official job offer to DTB so that he can do his job better.
Bayless was even kind of clutch in this one, prompting one of the commentators to say something about “turning back the clock”. I’m not sure if that really applies to Bayless, because it’s not like he’s ever been all that much better than he is right now. What are we turning back to? His days with the Blazers Summer League team where he won MVP?
