Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 22 Points/8 Assists Full Highlights (3/30/2019)

Add “Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Midrange-ilation” to the quickly expanding list of -ilations that are going to be slamming your subscription (you did subscribe, didn’t you?????) box during the playoffs/offseason. According to my highlight videos of him, he never misses from that part of the court. Seriously, go back and watch all the vids of him I’ve compiled this season. I defy you to find even one missed jumper from the midrange where he wasn’t getting fouled.

He’s just so smooth from there. He’s smooth in all areas of the court, but once he gets to around the free-throw line area, the smoothness cranks up to 11. He can simply shoot over his defender, and what can they do about it? Hope he misses, which he won’t, because he literally never misses. I’m still waiting for you to come back with evidence of a missed midrange jumper, by the way. And if the evidence comes from a non-DTB-highlight source, it doesn’t count.

SGA shook things up in this game by taking and making an unusually large amount of threes. I applaud him for trying to expand (literally) his game, but he’s got to be careful about straying too far about what’s making him one of the more intriguing rookies this season. Honestly, I don’t particularly want another unabashed three-chucker. I want more midrange savants.
