Why are people still pretending that the Warriors are invulnerable? LeBron James has proved that “playoff mode” doesn’t exist, and what we’re seeing from the Warriors is what we’re going to get in the playoffs. And what we saw tonight was them taking their foot off the gas and letting a rookie named Collin Sexton drag a bad Cavaliers team almost all the way back from a huge deficit to nearly steal a victory. If Sexton had some better dudes around him, this would’ve been a big L for Lephen Lurry, Levin Lurant, Laymond Leen, and Lay Lompson.
I don’t know, maybe I’m just trying to talk myself into believing that the Bucks have a chance at winning the championship. But if a team like the Cavaliers led by Sexton (who, don’t forget, was super garbagey for a big chunk of the season) can scare the Warriors, why not a team with actual good players on it? It doesn’t even have to be the Bucks. It could be the Rockets. Or the Magic.
Sexton, as stated, and as everyone knows, was pretty bad to start the season. I don’t know what changed for him, or at what point the chance occurred, but he’s good now. He’s been getting buckets at a high level for a whole month now, way too long of a time period for it to be a fluke. Sure, he’s not leading them to any wins, but that’s not the point. There aren’t many rookies who could lead this roster to much of anything. The important thing is, is that he looks like a core piece for them moving forward, one of the few on the roster. Maybe the only one. The Cavaliers build around a stud rookie with little help once upon a time (no, not Dion Waiters, try again); I feel like it’s going to happen again.
