Duncan Robinson 15 Points Full Highlights (4/10/2019)

Duncan “Dunkman” Robinson hasn’t played much for the Heat this season, but that didn’t stop him from collecting one of the most prestigious accolades in the entire NBA: the SBPFMINBAH award (pronounced “Subpuff Minbah”). If your little brain is too simple to parse complicated acronyms, SBPFMINBAH stands for “Second Best Player From Maine in NBA History”. Because that’s what the Dunkman is. He’s the second best player from Maine to ever play in the NBA. Ever. And it’s not even close.

Granted, there are only two NBA players in the league’s history that were born in Maine. The other is current Magic commentator Jeff Turner, who had a somewhat lackluster career as one of those big white dudes from the 80’s who couldn’t really do anything. Since Robinson has only played in one season so far and Turner stuck around for around a decade, it’s clear that Turner has the edge here in terms of Maine-born dominance.

I just did a Google street view of some locales in Maine and that place is desolate as heck. I can see why no NBA players would emerge from there. It’s all trees. You don’t think about boonies being that far north, but Maine is like 99% boonies and 1% urban centers that are pretending to be in Massachusetts. That’s definitely the sort of place that would generate mentally troubled horror-fiction writers and not NBA superstars.
