Domantas Sabonis 27 Points Full Highlights (10/23/2019)

It seems like just a few days ago that Domantas Sabonis was on the trade block, with the Pacers looking to trade him in lieu of giving him a big contract. That’s probably because it WAS just a few days ago, here I was getting all ready to see Sabonis in a new uniform, that’s fine, I’m not too attached to him in Indiana, and then the Pacers rapidly switch directions and give him a big multi-year deal? Come on. I was kinda getting excited to see what he could do on a team where they have plays other than “screen and roll at the top of the key”.

Supposedly the contract Sabonis received is one of those fabled “tradable” contracts, where they money per year/amount of years isn’t so ridiculous that only a truly desperate team would take it in a trade. I feel like most of the time, when players get signed, the predominant attitude is “they’re stuck with that contract until he becomes an expiring”. Not so with Sabonis. If things really end up not working out, the Pacers can find a buyer.

Maybe they could trade him for Thon Maker. Maker may not be on the Bucks anymore, but I will never stop trying to find trades for him.

In the meantime, Sabonis is up to his old tricks, getting buckets like it’s the easiest thing in the world while also grabbing a bunch of rebounds. He’s like a mini Jonas Valanciunas out there, just stuffing the stat sheet while casual NBA fans look the other way because he doesn’t shoot enough threes. Man, what happened to the Thunder version of Sabonis who pretty much only shot threes?

Also, sorry that his penultimate bucket is missing except for a replay of it. Someone wasn’t paying attention and cut back from the timeout too late.
