Rui Hachimura 14 Points Wizards Debut Full Highlights (10/23/2019)

DownToBuck has only had limited experience with Japanese fans on his channel. Basically, my singular experience with them comes from the time I uploaded highlights of Yuta Watanabe scoring ten points. I know that interest in the NBA (and the sport as a whole) is growing in Japan, but I haven’t seen much of that growing interest firsthand. Sometimes I’ll get a comment written in those incomprehensible squiggles that they allege is a system of writing, but that’s rare.

Maybe that will all change with the uploadment of this video. Yuta Watanabe is good, but Rui Hachimura is just on a different level of excitement. The hype is just way higher for this dude. Nobody ever really thought that Watanabe would be a star in America, but there are a lot of people who think that Hachimura can be a star, and they’re not totally wrong. I admit that I am intrigued as everybody else. I even watched some preseason highlights of him. You know that’s a big deal because I am done paying attention to preseason, like, three days after it starts.

And now I get to make a highlight video for him. If Japanese people happen to watch it (which they definitely should), I want to say to them: hello from Wisconsin! I’m sorry your digestive systems have a hard time with cheese. Please enjoy this highlight video, and please know that I don’t even watch anime or read manga so I’m not like the typical young American male who has developed a warped sense of Japanese culture through idealized representations such as those. Hopefully Hachimura builds on this strong debut performance and becomes a regular on my channel until he’s too good to be on my channel anymore.

Basically what I’m hoping for here is that Japanese people become the next Serbs in terms of driving up my subscriber totals.
