Thomas Bryant 21 Points/3 Blocks Full Highlights (10/25/2019)

Thomas “Thobe” Bryant’s individual successes early this season make me feel good inside. From a second-round draftee getting no minutes his rookie season to a certified starter who can stretch the floor, Bryant’s rapid rise up the ranks has been fun to watch. And you know what makes it even better?

It was the Lakers who gave up on him.

My entire life is fueled by the suffering of Lakers fans, Lakers employees, and Lakers players. When Lakers fans watch from afar to see Thobe playing so well after he spent the 17-18 season in LA observing from the bench as his team lost game after game, they must get seething mad. And their seething anger makes me seethingly happy.

The other ironic thing which causes my schadenfreude generators to go into overdrive is that the Lakers totally targeted the wrong Wizards center to go after. Dwight Howard has been pretty much a nonfactor in the Lakers’ two games so far. If the Lakers had gone after Bryant, they would have gotten an Anthony Davis lite who could have eased the load on the real Anthony Davis. But they didn’t. They wanted the rehabilitation project with monster shoulders, not the third-year stud who, sure, looks a little bit lumpy and lopsided, but at least he doesn’t have a million baby mamas scattered all over the globe.

Wizards fans don’t really have a lot to look forward to in life. John Wall is dead, the roster is a bunch of randos plus Bradley Beal, Rui Hachimura is really the only developing prospect who could become a future star for them, and playoffs might not happen even in the weak East. However, they can look forward to Bryant being a continued beast and rubbing it in all the Lakers fan’s smug, entitled faces.
