I feel sort of weird classifying this as a “REVENGE GAME” for Davis Bertans, considering the Spurs didn’t really want to get rid of him in the first place. But Marcus Morris promised he would sign, and they had to make space, and Bertans was the casualty. The fact that Morris reneged on his promise shouldn’t factor into this. Although, the more I think about, the more I think that the Spurs were really dumb to prefer a known cancery chucker like Morris over a sweet-shooting drama-free Bertans. It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, especially for a respected franchise like the Spurs who usually make the correct personnel decisions. It seems that, with every passing year, more and more cracks start to show in the once-perfect facade of Popovich, and he is slowly being revealed as the fraud that I have always claimed he is. So yeah, I guess this is a REVENGE GAME after all. The Spurs can suck it.
And what a REVENGE GAME it was. Bertans scored 23 points, didn’t miss a shot (though he did miss a free throw), and notched a clutch block with 20 seconds left. The ‘Zards didn’t win, but winning or losing makes no difference when it comes to a REVENGE GAME. The only thing that matters is if they guy who was playing against his old team made a lot of shots, made them pay for being foolish enough to get rid of him.
I am now waiting for Dairis Bertans to sign with the Wizards in time for them to play the Pelicans a couple times so that both Bertans bros can have their respective revenges against all those that have wronged them. Starting with Danute from Dairis’ second-grade class. Man, what a bitch she was. Would it be so hard to share the markers? Apparently so.
