Kendrick Nunn 25 Points Full Highlights (10/27/2019)

A trend I’ve noticed while looking at high-scoring seasons by unexpected players is that if they happen to score a lot of points in their first few games, that will be the catalyst to keep up the scoring for the rest of the year. And in seasons where they don’t score as much, it’s because they didn’t have random breakout games in the first week or so to give them the confidence to chuck their arms off until game 82.

Basically, what I’m saying here is that we shouldn’t be surprised when the regular season comes to an end and we look at peoples’ scoring averages and he’s sitting at 20.2 points per game. He’s averaging 22 right now, three games into the season, and with the way the Heat are constructed (i.e. lacking a true alpha scorer just forget about Jimmy Butler), there’s no reason that he can’t just keep putting up the shots and acquiring the resulting points.

When I say “no reason” I’m exaggerating a little bit, because there are plenty of reasons why he won’t keep this scoring up. But I won’t list them right now, because I don’t want to look like some butthurt hater who is mad at the Heat for beating the Bucks, like a chronic complainer who wants to tear down every player for spurious reasons. So I’m not even going to bring up the fact that his shooting percentages seem a bit unsustainable. Not even going to mention it.
