I guess the Warriors commentators were too busy enjoying a rare win to note the fact that Damion Lee (a basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association) scored a career-high in points tonight. That’s somewhat understandable; they might have been thinking that wouldn’t win a game the whole season, so a win this early would cause them to lapse into uncontrollable giddiness. But they could’ve at least taken a break from jacking each other off to acknowledge Lee ascending to an as-yet-unseen peak in his career.
Note: it’s possible they did mention it, just not right after the bucket that finalized the career-high. If they did, though, that’s still not good enough because I want the mention to be close enough in proximity to highlightable parts of Lee’s game action to include it in the resulting highlight video. So there. There’s no escaping the wrongdoing on their part; they have been deemed guilty by the council of DownToBuck.
But this video isn’t about what the commentators did or did not say. It’s about Damion Lee being a beast and helping the Warriors win their first game of the season. If he doesn’t score these 23 points, do the Warriors even win, and would we witness an even further implosion of the already imploded-to-neutron-star-density Warriors fanbase? I can see it. Lee’s first-quarter threes must’ve really been disheartening to see as a Pelicans player.
If Lee keeps this up, which he won’t, but let’s say he does, that will bring the amount of real legit NBA players on the Warriors’ roster to five, which is enough to field a whole starting lineup! Maybe they aren’t as done as we think! Just forget about the rest of the bench though. Don’t even think about it, unless you’re like me and like the idea of Eric Paschall playing 45 minutes more than Stephen Curry doing the same.
