So far this season, out of four games that R.J. Barrett has played, I’ve had to make four R.J. Barrett highlight videos. At the current moment, that’s not bothering me too much, because he’s an exciting young rookie and he drives a lot of hits to my channel, but if this trend continues, I could be facing Barrett Fatigue as early as next week.
Unlike some recent high-profile rookies (Doncic, Simmons, Embiid), Barrett basically has no chance of being an All-Star this season, at least in my opinion. The East is weak but it’s not THAT talent-bereft. Since he won’t be invoking the “Rookies are always DTB-eligible until they become an All-Star” rule, that means I’m stuck doing Barrett videos at least until the end of the season. Again, that’s okay for now, but after 82 R.J. Barrett highlight videos, I will have seen enough of this dude to last me until I die.
In light of all this, I humbly request that Barrett either start scoring less, or start scoring so much more that my points threshhold for him necessarily goes up. If he has to score 25 points in order to qualify for a video, I can live with that. And I know Barrett is reading this right now because he grew up watching highlight videos and now he wants to watch videos of himself like he always dreamed of as a kid.
