In my limited exposure to Jordan Poole, I have ascertained two things:
Thing one: he looks like a mini version of D.J. Wilson. I think it’s the shorts.
Thing two: he loves to shoot shots.
Now, a mini version of D.J. Wilson who loves to shoot shots sounds like a perfect candidate to be “DownToBuck’s Favorite Player Ever”, which is an award given out to the NBA who DownToBuck thinks is the coolest and most baller player ever. Wilson himself would be the leading candidate, but he’s a bit gun-shy at times. Poole, clearly, has no qualms about shooting shots whenever he feels like it. What’s Steve Kerr gonna do, bench him? There’s, like, one other dude on the whole Warriors roster who can create his own shot and they combined for 50 points tonight. Kerr, at this point, has no choice but to let Poole do his thing and just pray it doesn’t result in something like the 2-13, 1-9, or 2-8 statlines he’s already had.
Okay, looking at those statlines, he’s gonna need to up his percentages quite a bit before he can truly be in consideration for the DTBFPE award. But I’m going to keep my eye on him. Rookies always start off slow shooting the ball, but sometimes you can tell which ones are going to be good behind the poor numbers. Actually, no you can’t, and anyone who tells you they can is frickin’ LYING to your face. It’s all a crapshoot. Really. The more I watch the NBA the more I realize that success is doled out more or less at random. How else do you explain the current state of the NBA? Open your eyes, sheeple.
