The departure of Malcolm Brogdon is a big one for the Bucks. I cannot help but look at him putting up ridiculous numbers in Pacers and feel twinges of regret. But what’s done is done, and it’s not like he’d be averaging 20 and 10 on this Bucks team anyway. Not unless they marginalized Giannis, which is like the last thing you want to do. No, you do not get to see Brogdon on my channel anymore. I kinda figured he’d be way too good for my archivium of scrubs, and I was right.
The idea of signing Wesley Matthews to replace him was reasonable, but just between you and me, he seemed a little bit washed last year and I wasn’t totally convinced that he’d be the solution for the entire season. Luckily for the Bucks, and I’m sure they anticipated this, they have Donte DiVincenzo waiting in the wings.
Also Sterling Brown and Pat Connaughton. But those dudes didn’t score 17 points tonight. DiVincenzo did, and now he gets a highlight video, and I’m getting more excited by the game for him.
I can see a future where DiVincenzo is the starting SG. That future may not be very far away. He’s playing with confidence, he’s making shots like everyone said he was in training camp, and he’s always doing that thing where he runs into grab rebounds he doesn’t exactly need to grab by jumping about 10 feet into the air and slapping the ball between his hands. I don’t think either of the Lopez bros have grabbed a rebound the entire year between Giannis stealing them and DiVincenzo stealing them.
