The levels of hype contained in this video are seriously reminiscent of Bismack Biyombo’s playoff performances with the Raptors. You know, the ones that earned him that huge contract from the Magic? There was magic (we’re talking Harry Potter type stuff here you filthy muggle) going on back then in Toronto, and that magic, after disappearing for a few years, has magically reappeared in Charlotte.
Biyombo checked into this game in the fourth quarter and finished with 15 points, 13 in the 4th and 2 more in overtime. This is a guy who waited until his fifth year in the league to even score 15 points in a single game, and he goes and does it in 17 minutes tonight? I don’t care what you call it, but I’m calling it frickin’ MAGIC. Yer a wizard, Bismack.
I’m not exactly sure what was going on with the Pacers where they allowed this to happen (other than, you know, magic), but I can look at the film and surmise that they didn’t have anyone who could handle Biyombo’s raw energy. Their bigs in this game were… Goga Bitadze and TJ Leaf. That’s bad, but not so bad that I’d expect Biyombo to score 15 points so quickly.
He would’ve had more, too, except he went only 3-for-8 from the line. Which actually seems like a nice percentage for him because DAMN, look at that form. I’ve never seen anything like that. I don’t even want to know what’s going through Michael Jordan’s mind when he has to watch that mangled atrocity of a shooting form.
