De’Andre Hunter 16 Points Full Highlights (11/5/2019)

We are still waiting for the true breakout game from De’Andre Hunter. I don’t want to sound impatient, because after all he is only 6 games into his career, but I’m pretty sure Trae Young was putting up 40 and 15 regularly by this point.

We are also still waiting for the true breakout game from Cam Reddish, but that one might still be a few years off judging by how he looks right now.

Hunter, though, has looked not so bad in a few of his games. He’s made some shots while not chucking the air out of the ball like some rookies want to do. He hasn’t been hitting threes but, again, the sample size is small and it’ll come around eventually. The important thing to remember with shooting threes is that everyone who shoots them wants them to go in. They don’t want them to not go in. Sometimes it might not seem that way, but I swear, it’s true. Trust me. And this fact has positive implications for Hunter’s NBA trajectory.

As with Jabari Parker, the absence of John Collins due to roids opens up some doors for this guy. It opens up doors for everyone on the roster, but I want to see Hunter get a little more aggressive looking for shots, like he was this game. Guys drafted where he did don’t have to apologize for shooting shots.
