Terry Rozier Career High 33 Points/7 Threes Full Highlights (11/13/2019)

I am just now finding out that Terry Rozier has “3:17” tattooed on the back of his head. Did he always have that? Because this is the first time I’ve seen it. It’s either tattooed or, possibly, made out of hair. That would be way cooler but it looks way too neat for it to be shaved like that. At first, I thought he had “LIE” tattooed on there and it was just upside-down and backwards for some reason. That would also be cool, because what could be cooler than having a random “edgy” word tattooed on the back of your head? I maintain that nothing could be cooler.

I’m not really a Bible scholar (nothing but Lithuanian paganism for your old pal DTB, really adds a whole extra dimension to those Jonas Valanciunas highlights), but I presume that “3:17” refers to a Bible verse and isn’t a timestamp (literally) of some sort. I mean, maybe it was the time he was born or something, but knowing NBA players, he’s probably a total Christian and that verse has some special meaning to him. But there’s a lot of Chapter 3, Verse 17’s in the Bible. Any book with more than three chapters should have one. Which one is it? Let’s do some analysis with our brains:

Collosians 3:17 states: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”. Now that one makes a lot of sense. He’s playing basketball in the name of Jesus. I bet a lot of NBA players do that.

Matthews 3:17 states: “And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.'”. That also makes sense for being the reason for Rozier’s tattoo, though God is definitely talking about Jesus here, not Rozier. Rozier wasn’t even born when the Bible was written, I’m pretty sure. But in Christian theology, we are all God’s sons/daughters, so Rozier is saying that he is God’s son and that God is pleased with him. Which is presumptive, but whatever.

John 3:17 states: “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” Honestly, I’m really tired of trying to analyze Bible versus right now, so let’s just say it’s not this one. Damn, why did I sign up for this? I’m for sure not adding “amateur theologian” to my resume. Rozier, can’t you just get a normal tattoo of, like, a lion or something? This cryptic stuff is way too much for me.

So maybe we didn’t figure out the meaning of his tattoo for sure, maybe I didn’t need to figure it out because he already talked about it (I’m too lazy to check but not too lazy to write this god-damn Bible treatise), whatever. But he scored 33 points tonight, and that’s a career high, so who cares? He’s shutting up the haters right now, hard. Is there a verse in the Bible about shutting up haters? If there isn’t, I’m adding one. You can’t stop me. It’s the Bible, it’s open-source.
