Kendrick Nunn 23 Points/8 Assists Full Highlights (11/14/2019)

I feel like that when the Cavaliers and Heat play each other, they shouldn’t even be going into the game to win it. They should be going in with the collaborative, sympathetic spirit that can only be shared by two teams who were betrayed by LeBron James. That means there should be no defense. Just scoring and passing and fun and comradeship and anti-LeBron sentiments. But not too much scoring, just in case one team feels like the other is trying too hard to win.

Maybe Nunn doesn’t feel the same way I do, because he just reminded everybody why he’s a leading ROTY of the year candidate with a stat-stuffed 23-point, 8-assist performance. I suppose that, since he wasn’t actually around when LeBron discarded the warm climes of South Beach for the cold climes of Cleveland, he has no reason to view the Heatles era as anything more than an interesting historical footnote which swung the balance of power in the league for a couple of years. In fact, nobody on this Heat squad is tied to the Heatles era except for the decrepit corpse of Udonis Haslem. And Coach Spoelstra. Anybody out there remember bumpgate? I remember bumpgate.

Nunn’s doing his best to make Heat fans forget about those good times with LeBron, Wade, and Bosh. They might not have the world’s most bestest big three on their roster anymore, but they have a stud rookie who’s such a smooth operator that it makes their long-ago enthusiasm for rookie Norris Cole seem like the most embarrassing thing ever. Hopefully they never got hyped for Terrel Harris.
