Lots of things are going wrong with the Knicks right now, actually pretty much everything is going wrong for them, so to increase positivity among the fanbase, I’ll list some things that are going right. No one wants to hear how their team sucks all the time, especially when they have to watch them suck nearly every game, but I’ve got Knicks fans’ backs on this one:
-The Knicks logo still looks cool. They haven’t messed with it, unlike all these newer franchises who feel like trying to develop an iconic brand over decades is a fool’s errand. If I was some sort of casual with no real team affiliation, and if I wore caps (I don’t), I’d totally wear a Knicks cap with the logo right on the front.
-I’m sure the franchise is making tons of money, which is the real goal in America’s hyper-capitalist society. Winning games wouldn’t sell out Madison Square Garden any more than it is already sold out.
-RJ Barrett is living up to his billing as a good scorer with also some other stuff as a bonus. Given how cursed the Knicks franchise seems at times, I would have expected a top-three selection of theirs to average 3 points per game on 10 percent shooting before suffering simultaneous tears in both ACL’s as well as the spinal cord.
-Along with Barrett, Marcus Morris is also not underperforming too badly.
-And it’s possible that Kevin Knox has shown some positive development, though it’s hard to tell when you have to stare through the all-enveloping black fog of despair, looking in vain for any faint ray of light feebly piercing through the darkness.
See? Not so bad after all! And there’s maybe 1 or 2 things that I didn’t even mention that the Knicks are doing well. Okay, maybe not, but if I really stretched I could maybe find half of another bullet point.
