Cam Reddish makes his long awaited debut on the world-renowned highlight channel of Mr. DownToBuck, surpassing his pair of 12-point efforts with a new career-high 13-point performance. I basically couldn’t wait any longer, I wanted to see what this rookie was up to (I had an inkling from his putrid shooting percentages, but I wanted to see with my own retinas/corneas/vitreouses).
I probably should’ve waited a little longer, but no one told me that a full 2 out of the 5 buckets on display here would be goaltends. If I had known that, maybe this video doesn’t happen, and then Reddish’s first appearance might be something impressive. This isn’t impressive at all. He hit a few shots, got two more goaltended (they were probably going in, but the serotonin boost you get when seeing balls go in holes is absent), and had an assist (which I showed to boost the runtime of this vid). Against the best defense in the league, no less. Wow.
Much has been made of Reddish’ poor start to the season and, indeed, if he keeps up his current pace it will probably end up as one of the very worst seasons of all time, not just for rookies, but for everybody. But I’m going to show a bunch of restraint here and wait AT LEAST two more weeks before calling him a bust. I really want to get it over with now but I know if I do the CRIDF (Cam Reddish Internet Defense Force) will start spamming all my videos with pro-Reddish propaganda, so you guys will have to wait for that final, damning verdict.
