It wasn’t until I was halfway through editing this video that I realized I went against my standard and used the opposing commentators rather than the home commentators. This is the highlight-maker equivalent of walking into the wrong tunnel at halftime after getting recently (or not so recently, Kristaps…) traded. I was just so used to Davis Bertans on the Spurs that my mind automatically went for the Spurs commentary, and didn’t realize anything was amiss until WAY too late in the process to fix things.
I still think he should be on the Spurs, but what’s done is done, and there is no way to undo Marcus Morris’ treachery. Moving from an organization like the Spurs to an organization like the Wizards probably isn’t the best in terms of quality-of-life (or quality-of-basketball), but it seems like he’s doing okay. Maybe he got out just in time; the Spurs are looking as bad as they have for a really long time, and the Wizards… okay, they’re sucking too.
Once I realized my mistake, I was kind of hoping that the Spurs commentators would sound especially butthurt that they didn’t have Bertans anymore and that he was totally torching them, but them basically talked about him like he was any other player. Still, that’s probably better than whatever we would’ve gotten from the Wizards commentators. I can’t believe that they’re paying Drew Gooden to be so bland. At least, I assume they’re paying him.
