You know how annoying it is when a team is for sure going to lose a game but some jerk decides to keep hitting threes so that the game gets dragged out into infinity with free throws? Real annoying, for sure (especially when it actually results in a win like what Zach LaVine did to the Hornets tonight). For Toronto fans/players tonight, the source of that annoyance was De’Andre Hunter! He hit two threes in the last 25 seconds to keep the Hawks alive, which was a real pain for the Raptors players who just wanted to take the win and go home. If the NBA is serious about reducing the length of games, they need to tell players that when their team is down by any amount of points with less than a minute left, they should take the loss respectfully and not attempt any more field goals. Sportsmanship is a key part of the NBA, and it’s not very sportsmanlike to try and steal away the opposition’s fairly-earned lead with shot attempts.
I, personally, didn’t have a problem with Hunter’s actions, but mainly because it gave him 26 points, a total which will distract from the fact that I totally ignored his 18-point performance from last game. Sorry folks, but I ran out of time and couldn’t get it done. And now it’s never going to get done, because I don’t go back into the past to make missed vids. That would require a time machine, and my own personal time machine is sitting dusty in corner after I swore never to use it again after what happened with Jennifer.
Plus the chronometer is totally busted and I don’t want to risk getting trapped in the past without any hope of returning. How would I do highlights in an era where basketball doesn’t exist yet, much less the technology to record/edit video or the ability to upload it to a global network of interconnected computers?
In a way, it’s pretty much a total miracle that you even get to watch these highlights of Hunter score 26 points at all. All this technological progress, culminating in the ability for you to joylessly view a 2-minute long video of some dude putting a ball in a hole.
