When I reincluded Tim Hardaway Jr. on my channel after about a year’s absence, he was averaging around 10 points per game. A low number that definitely meant that he was no longer “too good” to be found amongst my hallowed halls of role-players and scrubs. I thought that that was just the new normal for him, that Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis would continue hogging almost literally ALL the shots for the Mavericks for the rest of time, and my workload would hardly be increased by his inclusion.
How foolish I was. How naive, and foolish.
In the three games since I made the decision (which was right after he scored zero against the Spurs), he’s scored 20, 16, and now 31. God damn it. He’s looking at another year of being off my channel if he keeps this up, because I do not like to be made a fool of in front of everybody. He tricked me by playing below his standards for pretty much a whole month, and now he’s laughing in my face. He, and everyone else.
I almost didn’t even make this video. I almost went back and deleted the last video I made for him. I desired to pretend that nothing ever changed, that I never reincluded him, and I was going to 1984 all evidence that said otherwise. But I have too much pride for that. I will see this through to the end, which is going to be in about two weeks when he suffers a “mysterious” injury.
