It’s always wild to look back and see who the longest-tenured players are for all the NBA teams. You end up with some really funky names while doing that, names like DeAndre’ Bembry and Cristiano Felicio.
Will Barton is not one of those names. He’s really close, though; the only Denver Nugget who has been with the team longer is Gary Harris. They were both around for the 2014-15 season, with Harris being freshly drafted and Barton coming in because of a midseason trade with Portland. Word of warning: don’t even look at the players involved in that trade. It’s not good. Just a quick teaser so that you’re so disgusted that you never want to think about it again: Victor Claver was involved.
Assuming that he doesn’t get traded again, Barton is under contract for two more years after this one. Nuggets fans won’t be happy about that, because they’ve been complaining about him for most of the time he’s been in Denver, with only occasional breaks where they acknowledge that he can be a good “microwave” scorer. For a guy who’s been with the same team for so long, he has hardly any fans among the fanbase, or really any fans at all. I know I complain about it all the time, but I don’t really blame people. I’m not a fan of him either, I’m just making these videos because of the dumb idealistic goal of my channel to showcase the unshowcased.
