Abdel Nader 19 Points Full Highlights (11/29/2019)

This nineteen-point performance from Abdel Nader would have been a career-high if he had not scored 23 points literally the game before. To set would-be career-highs in back-to-back games should get me more hyped, but I am strangely neutral on the matter. Maybe it’s because I know that Egyptian people don’t follow the NBA that closely and aren’t necessarily going to be flocking to shower Nader with attention and praise.

Nader’s 42 points in two games is obviously a career-best as well. You could probably come up with a mathematical proof proving that a player notching two career-highs in a row will necessarily have also set a career-high for a two-game span. However, out of curiosity, I went back to see if there was even a four-game span where Nader scored so many points, and there wasn’t. In late December 2018/early Januar 2019, Nader scored 18, 3, 10, and 10 in four games, for a total of 41 points. Since those games were bookended by zero-point excursions, it would seem that you can’t even extend the search to six total games to find a 42-point total.

But wait! Again in January of 2019, Nader scored 9, 15, 3, 1, 3, and 16 in a span of six games, for a total of 49! Wow! What a beast!

Let’s stay tuned to see if Nader’s strong play continues or if this was an aberration never to be repeated. If he keeps this up, he’s going to be repeatedly blowing out the records from his first two years in the league.
