In case you’re not aware of how this game went down, here’s how it went down: Spencer Dinwiddie got the ball inbounded to him with ten seconds left and his team down three. He casually advanced the ball, which didn’t allow him enough time to get a good shot, so he kind of jacked up a well-defended side-step three as time expired.
Airball. Game over.
You don’t get to see the actual sequence of events because I am a highlights channel, not a lowlights channel or an “all-lights” channel. I will not disrespect Din-Dins by tainting his highlight video with a clip that is decidedly not a highlight.
If you ignore the somewhat anticlimactic finish, Din-Dins had a good game. By all accounts, he is just fine with Kyrie Irving being injured as long as he wants, because the best version of Din-Dins is the one who gets to be the starter and have the ball all the time. If there’s no Kyrie or D’Angelo or even Shabazz Napier to steal his touches, that’s when the stat sheet will get sufficiently stuffed.
I don’t even blame Din-Dins for lazily advancing the ball and taking a tough three at the end of the game because he has a history of making clutch shots in the past. And you know that when Kyrie comes back, he’ll never get the chance to attempt a game-winner ever again.
