This is a career high for Sviatoslav “Ukrainian Kobe” Mykhailiuk, just a few days after he tied a career high by scoring twelve points against the Magic. Since I am a firm believer that he will surpass this thirteen-point total soon enough, I’m not going to bother putting the phrase “Career High” in the title.
However, in order to score more than thirteen, two things need to happen in conjunction. First, the Pistons need to be either winning by such an insurmountable amount, or losing by such an insurmountable amount, that giving Mykhailiuk extended minutes is a real option. Second, Mykhailiuk needs to be more aggressive in shooting the ball. Those aren’t unattainable things, but they’re not gonna happen every game. Mykhailiuk needs to, as they say, “stay ready” so that he can take advantage when Dwane Casey randomly decides to give him minutes.
And if this does turn out to be a permanent career high for Mykhailiuk, that probably means that he gave up on the NBA and went back to Europe. If you are a denizen of the future who is watching this video to see what Euroleague MVP Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk did during his short stint in the NBA, welcome! If you have mastered time travel, please send me some future snacks because I’m tired of the snacks of the present time.
