One of these days I’m going to find some gallery space, rent it out, put up an exhibit of all the best DownToBuck thumbnail images, and then charge those god-damn art hipsters big bucks to see what is, in effect, just a bunch of blown-up pictures of NBA players making funny faces. It wouldn’t be a complete history of my thumbnail artistry; I don’t archive them unlike the videos and descriptions, so there are thousands of thumbnails that were lost when my first channel got deleted. A true tragedy, but I bet there’s artists out there who’ve lost their life’s work in a fire or something, and I bet only like half of them killed themselves. And I’m definitely still here, unless I died and my personal hell is having to make Fred VanVleet highlights for eternity.
The only thing stopping me from attempting this venture is the fact that I don’t have the money to rent out gallery space. You think my meager Patreon earnings are enough to get even one room at “Monsieur Fart’s Hipster Art Emporium”? Not even close. I could donate the art to a gallery and hope they put it up, but Monsieur Fart would probably look at it and laugh, smug prick. I could even do that thing that horrible artists do where I give pieces to a restaurant to decorate with and then they put a price tag on the bottom so that people can maybe buy it. That wouldn’t work either.
Maybe I’ll just go to the copy shop and print them out on the biggest pieces of paper I can find and sell them through the Internet. The asking price for “Davis Bertans Finds Himself Adrift Upon an Endless Sea of Hardwood” is 100 dollars. 120 if you want a signed version, and 140 if you want a signed version without the “DownToBuck 19-20” watermark.
