Jalen Brunson 18 Points/8 Assists Full Highlights (12/14/2019)

Luka Doncic getting injured may not be very good for the Mavericks, or for the NBA as a whole, but it is very good for me, because it means that there are tons of extra possessions and touches and shots for Mavericks role players. Doncic is really cool and fun to watch (not like I would know, since he graduated from my channel I hardly see him at all), but his stat-stuffing/stat-padding tendencies tend to marginalize everyone else on the roster, 2 through 15.

Jalen Brunson, as a member of the Mavericks, is one of the players who stands to benefit from this temporary situation. He’s been about as good as last year, but it doesn’t feel like it, because he hasn’t been having those big games he had in his rookie season. Theoretically he improved over the offseason, because that’s what rookies do going into their sophomore season, but any improvement has been obscured by the blinding radiance of Doncic.

I swear that there should be a version of the NBA where star players are not allowed to play. They can form their own league, with nothing but stars, and they can form all the superteams and big threes and stuff that they want. Then the role-players of the NBA can become the new stars in this new league. Call it the “Good League”, because all the players in it are good, and you can shorten it to “G-League”. Man, that would be something special, and I wouldn’t have to worry about role-players getting marginalized by superstars.
