Golden State used to be the team that would amplify the quality of opposing players’ highlights. 20 points is 20 points, but it would become more significant when scored against the Warriors and their unending supply of All-Stars and superstars.
Now they are the team that degrades the quality of opposing players’ highlights. 20 points is still 20 points, but how much is it really worth when it is scored against a team full of nothing but end-of-bench scrubs?
Bogdan Bogdanovic had 25 tonight, one of the better scoring games of his career, but it doesn’t feel like anything special. Just a good player going out and dominating a horrible team for a bit, scoring points and getting assists with hardly any resistance. The game was a blowout in the first half, there was no tension, he could have scored barely any points and the Kings still would’ve one.
I thought about taking some of the commentary from some of my more invigorating Bogdanovic vids and splicing it over the top in place of the boring, hardly-interested commentary that smothers this one. Having the Sacramento commentators screaming about a game-winner in the middle of the second quarter would be a transparent attempt to increase hype, but it would also be funny.
