Using the precepts of advanced analytics, I have broken down the field goals that Cedi Osman made in this game into three categories. I will then use those categorized field goals to determine whether or not this video was worth making.
1 Jumpshot
1 Turnaround hook/floater
6 Layups (“LAME-ups”)
1 Free Throw
Think about it. If you knew what the shot type distribution was beforehand, would you even bother watching this video? Maybe if you’re Turkish, but not if you’re a general NBA fan. You would look at this video, and then you would look at that Bam Adebayo video I uploaded recently, and you would watch that one even if you had already watched it previously, because this one just has no potential when it comes to providing worthwhile entertainment.
If you’re lucky, you’re one of the people that opens the video, then pauses it immediately, then reads the description. That means I’ve saved you the torment of watching this video only to find that it contains mostly LAME-ups. But if you’re one of those foolish people who watches a video without bothering to check the description for disclaimers, I would say that you get what you deserve. That’s right. You DESERVE to watch Cedi Osman make layups for a minute and a half. You even DESERVE to watch replays of Cedi Osman layups.
