NBA historians of the future will wonder what the heck was going on with the Warriors this year, where things went so wrong than Glenn Robinson III led the team in minutes played. This will be so far into the future that they will get him confused with his dad, because what’s a few decades of NBA seasons in the year 2421? They will see all the championships and Finals appearances, this one year blip of Robinson being the featured player on the team, and then another run of championships and Finals appearances.
They will be confused because so far in the future, there is no concept of “injuries”. The human body will be scarcely recognizable as an organic creation, so modified as it is with gears, cogs, and brain-computer interfaces. They will also wonder why the league leader in dunks had such a paltry total when there are players in their future NBA dunking it 50 times per game. And they will be confused as to how a player who has NEVER done a single good dunk in a real-life NBA game won a dunk contest.
I’m still talking about Glenn Robinson III with that last one. How did the NBA even find out he was a good enough dunker to be in the contest when he literally doesn’t do anything resembling good dunks in-game?
