Danny Green shot 45 percent from three last year, on a huge amount of attempts. If you’re curious about the nature of the threes he made, I did make a three-ilation of all 198 of them. You should watch that. Even if you’re not curious, you should watch it, because 198 threes in under 10 minutes is practically a holy experience. The abridged version of that video, for those too lazy to watch it (no link will be provided because I would only use the opportunity to RickRoll you): Green made a ton of very tough threes.
There must have been something in the water in Toronto (definitely not FREEDOM, which is only found in American water), because he set career-highs in both makes and percentage. This year, in the absence of whatever magical properties the water in Canada had, he has regressed to about what we’d expect from him based on his last few years in San Antonio. Still a good three-point shooter, and a valuable role-player to have, but not the world-beater that helped the Raptors win the championship last year.
The reunion for him and LeBron James has been a long time coming. Green’s stint in Cleveland was short-lived and not very productive; James only assisted him twice the whole time he was there. I’m too lazy to figure out how much greater that number is this year, but I’m guessing it’s AT LEAST three or four times as big.
