Markieff Morris 23 Points/7 Threes/6 Assists Full Highlights (12/21/2019)

I know what question you are asking to yourself right now, and no, this is not Markieff Morris’ career high in assists. He’s had multiple (is “multiple” too strong a word when the number is actually just two?) eight-assist games. It’s surprising, but a guy who is willing to have the ball as much as Morris is is just naturally going to have some times where his fruitless and non-productive passes result in assists. This happens to every scorer, except for the REAL chuckers, like Nick Young.

If any Morris out there fan wants to dispute my characterization of him as “not a REAL chucker”, you are welcome to, but it only makes Morris look worse.

This IS, however, his career high in three-point makes. Now that one is surprising to me. This guy has been in the league for nine years, he’s played over 15000 minutes, he’s a career 34 percent three-point shooter, and the most he’d had before tonight was 6 threes? And that was only one time, and after that his next highest is 4? This is honestly mindblowing to me. This is the modern NBA, how does a scorer in the modern NBA who can shoot threes end up with so few games like that?

I’m seriously wondering if the stats I’m looking at are totally messed up and lying to me. But if I can’t trust the stats, who can I trust?
