Patrick McCaw 18 Points/8 Assists Full Highlights (12/28/2019)

Patrick McCaw has gained a small amount of notoreity among ultra-casual NBA fans for winning three championships in a row. The casuals get to chuckle to themselves while saying stuff like “is Patrick McCaw the GOAT?” and “the Lakers won’t win the chip until they sign McCaw” and “hurr durr HURRDUURHURRRRRR”.

The only thing worse that I can think of is the ironic praise of Brian Scalabrine.

So if I see ANY comments on this video alluding to the championship pedigree of McCaw, be warned that I will backtrace the IP addresses of those comments and fully DELETE the posters who posted them. The comment sections of my videos are meant to be places of intellectual and reasoned discussion. Not for regurgitating beaten-to-death memes.

The reality for McCaw is that he kinda sucks. The Warriors made him look better than he really was (and he still didn’t look that good, even with literally an entire roster of superstars surrounding him), and even on another high-quality team like the Raptors, he looked pretty bad. I think Toronto fans were about done with him after his 32-minute, 2-point performance last game against the Celtics.

And now this happens. Same opponent, way different result. What even happened here? 42 minutes, a career high, 18 points, one point off a career high, 8 assists, a career high. I have alternatively claimed that one of Terence Davis, OG Anunoby, Norman Powell, or Stanley Johnson (just kidding) was the next Kawhi Leonard in Toronto, but I was wrong about all of them. It turns out that McCaw is the next Kawhi.

Has more championships than him too. Yes, I’m allowed to joke about it and you’re not, because I’m me, and you’re you. Just the way the world works, bucko. Get used to it.
