When I saw that Will Barton had 20 points and 7 assists, my main reaction was to scratch my right armpit. That might not seem like a notable action, but as a reminder for those who may have forgotten: Left pit = pit of goodness. Right pit = pit of badness.
The fact that I scratched the “pit of badness” is not an indication of how good this performance by Barton was. Rather, it is an indication of how excited I am to chronicle this performance. Which is, not at all. There are 14 games tonight, presumably providing a bounty of eligible performances, and here I am, wasting my time with Barton having just an okay game.
For a guy who was in the dunk contest once upon a time (an invite solely earned by that huge poster he had on Donatas Motiejunas), this guy really doesn’t have any fans, or draw any attention from the general NBA viewership. He could score 40 and even then I doubt anyone would care besides a few Nuggets fans who would really rather see anyone else scoring that amount of points. I could test my hypothesis by smushing two copies of this video together and uploading the result with “40 Points” in the title, but that would be slightly unethical, even if technically true.
