Brandon Goodwin Career High 21 Points/6 Assists Full Highlights (12/30/2019)

There was a time, last season, when Brandon Goodwin was the only real point guard on the Denver Nuggets’ roster besides Monte Morris. That fact didn’t help him get any playing time at all, because the Nuggets seem very averse to the idea of having a traditional PG on the court for them, but it was something interesting to note during their season.

A similar situation for him is happening right now on the Hawks. They went into the season with Trae Young as their sole point guard. Note: Evan Turner, despite his positional designation on basketball-reference, is absolutely NOT a point guard. And even if he was, he still doesn’t count, because he’s almost unplayable right now, so great is his suckitude. Anyway, having Young be the only lead guard on the roster is a classic case of putting all one’s eggs into one basket. Him getting injured immediately made a bad situation worse in Atlanta, with no one around to run the offense (or at least pretend to) with any degree of competency.

Enter Goodwin, who was chilling out on a two-way contract, making a small amount of appearances in the big leagues but mostly having his way in the G-League. All of a sudden he gets to play real minutes, a situation he appeared unfit for, as he had two fairly bad games prior to this in two big blowouts.

Maybe it just took him a little while to get comfortable with the NBA game, because he came out and pretty much led the Hawks to their first win in almost a month. He didn’t score so many points as to surpass his prior career total in one game, but he came kinda close, making this for sure the best game of his career. I am seriously hyped right now, it might not be coming through in the tone of this description, but this is really just an absolutely SICK performance. If my channel gets deleted again, this is one of the first videos that’s going to be reuploaded. The world NEEDS to see this.
