D.J. Augustin 25 Points/9 Assists Full Highlights (1/1/2020)

I know Magic fans got used to 2019 D.J. Augustin, and I don’t think they were really happy with what they were getting from him, but this is no longer 2019 D.J. Augustin. This is 2020 D.J. Augustin! He’s way better, he still doesn’t play any defense but he can basically average 25 and 10 with handles like prime Allen Iverson and free-throw shooting like prime Rick Barry except not underhand.

Note: 2020 D.J. Augustin will only continue if he gets to play the Wizards every game, or nearly every game. Otherwise, it’s back to 2019 D.J. Augustin for Magic fans. I haven’t looked at their upcoming schedule but I assume that they play the Wizards in at least 80 percent of their games until the season is over, so it should be fine.

Whatever version of Augustin we get, you cannot deny that is impressive for a guy under 6 feet tall to be even a little effective at the age of 32. I guess he has an advantage in that he never really used his athleticism (other than speed, which doesn’t decline as fast) to do much of anything, so his loss of athleticism hasn’t hindered his game too much. But still. 32 years old is practically ancient in NBA terms, unless your name is Vince Carter.
