P.J. Washington 19 Points Full Highlights (1/4/2020)

It’s gotta be official now that P.J. Washington is the most beloved Charlotte-based P.J. of all time, ahead of P.J. Hairston and P.J. Brown, right? Can we make that official? Does a Hornets fan want to weigh in and add some officiality to the proceedings?

P.J. Washington being more beloved than P.J. Hairston was a given. Hairston came up through the D-League and was supposed to be a good shooter, but he wasn’t very good in the NBA and then it turned out that he had a side hustle of punching kids at pickup games.

P.J. Brown, though, I don’t have the tools at my disposal to figure out how beloved he was in Charlotte. Was he just a journeyman passing through for a couple years or was he a vital part of some cherished Hornets squads before their team was moved to New Orleans? By the time he joined Charlotte, he was old, so there wouldn’t have been any expectations of him suddenly turning into an All-Star-caliber player. With P.J. Washington, those hopes are there. There’s excitement when you think about what he could become since he is so promising as a rookie.

That’s why I’m relatively confident (we’re talking like 80% confidence here) that P.J. Washington is the most beloved P.J. in Hornets history.
