I don’t know if I could tell you what my “perfect” or “dream” highlight video would be, but this video is approaching it. Terrence Ross does nothing in this video but hit jumpers or get fouled while attempting jumpers. In total, he hits seven, count ’em, SEVEN pull-up midrange jimbos. I’m getting shades of that one time Avery Bradley was on the Grizzlies and hit a million midrange jimbos while statheads and analytics geeks around the world had their heads explode.
The best part of this video is when T-Ross hits four such jimbos in the span of a minute and a half at the start of the second quarter. The Jazz tried to salvage some dignity by calling a timeout after the third one, but when play resumed, Ross just hit another in the same fashion. The Magic broadcast didn’t show a shot of Quin Snyder after the fourth one, but he probably had sweat flowing out of his head like a lawn sprinkler while looking like he was actively planning a murder.
Basically the only problem with this video is that it has too many free throws. Replace that set of three free throws with another midrange jimbo and I would be on my way to the emergency room because my you-know-what has lasted longer than four hours. I guess that’s how you know that this video is pretty close to an ideal DownToBuck highlight video.
