Tristan Thompson 18 Points Full Highlights (1/11/2020)

Okay Tristan Thompson, you’ve had your fun, you scored 35 in one game then manhandled “MVP candidate” Nikola Jokic in a big win on the road in the next, now it’s time to take a step back. Maybe feign an injury, maybe really get an injury, all I know is, it’s time for John Henson and Ante Zizic to shine. And they’re not going to shine while you’re doing your “I’m still going to play hard to the best of my abilities because I’m a champion god damn it” act.

Thompson has been with the Cavaliers for his whole career, almost a decade now. He came in a bit after LeBron left for the first time, was on some horrible teams and put up some okay number, then suddenly became a super valuable low-volume role-player when LeBron came back, and now is back to being on horrible teams and putting up okay numbers. He’s been through thick and thin, is what I’m trying to say. But while he is properly beloved in Cleveland, it wouldn’t break anyone’s hearts to see him traded to a contender so his championship-winning attributes can, you know, maybe win another championship.

And then Zizic and Henson can stink up the joint and the Cavaliers can be horrible like they were earlier in the season (what’s up with the wins lately, have they lost sight of their tank?) and I will be a happy camper. Henson is basically like a skinny Thompson anyway. Try to change my mind on that one; you will fail.
