I will listen to no more slander of Dillon Brooks. You can continue slandering him all you want, I can’t stop you since this is America and we have a thing called “free speech” (sorry Canadians you may not understand), but I am done paying attention. I will be over here enjoying his pure bucket-getting ability while you worry about “impact” and “incomprehensible advanced-stat gobbledygook”.
Here’s an advanced stat for you nerds: the Grizzlies (who lose their fair share of games) are undefeated when he scores 20 or more points. A perfect 12 and frickin’ OH. Take that for data!
The Grizzlies are definitely surging, thanks in part to Brooks’ semi-consistent scoring output. There are other factors, like the fact that seemingly everyone except for Bruno Caboclo (god damn it where’s my hashtag oh yeah here it is #freebruno) is playing better than they were earlier in the season, but Brooks still remains one of their main threats when it comes to getting buckets unaided. He doesn’t want nor need anyone’s help when he wants to score.
