Eric Gordon takes his role on the Rockets very seriously. He knows that the goal of the Rockets’ system is to shoot as many three-pointers as possible, so what does he do? He goes out there and chucks threes. Even though he’s not shooting a great percentage this season (32%), he’s not going to let something like that stop him from fulfilling his role in the team concept.
To illustrate how seriously Gordon takes his three-point shooting duties, I’m going to list all the players that have taken more three-pointers than him in the past four seasons (the four seasons Gordon has been on the Rockets);

That’s kind of crazy when you think about it, but it’s also kind of not crazy. Gordon is shooting about the same percentage from three as Harden and Lillard are in that span, so even though I have this vision in my mind of Gordon being a low-efficiency chucker, he’s just as good at three-pointers as so-called “superstars” Harden and Lillard. Maybe the craziest thing is that two of the top six players are on the same team.
Does any of that mean that I will ever make an Eric Gordon three-ilation? No.
