Matthew Dellavedova 14 Points Full Highlights (1/14/2020)

I don’t know how much longer Matthew Dellavedova can possibly hang on in the league, but if he’s going to continue his career anywhere, Cleveland is the place. They still love him there, right? Or does he remind them too much of all the good times they had with LeBron? Well, I know if I were a Cavs fan, I’d still love him. But as a real-life Bucks fan, I totally don’t.

Hard to believe the Bucks got George Hill (who is a beast) for nothing but a badly-regressed Dellavedova and John Henson. And some picks were flying around in there, and I think Sam Dekker and Jason Smith were involved. That was the trade that got way more complicated by the hour, I think.

Anyway, Dellavedova is suffering right now from the ill-effects of trying to change his shooting form during the offseason. That was a bold move for someone as far along in his career as he is, and who had notched some really nice three-point shooting seasons with it, but I guess he was tired of not being able to get it off any time he wanted. That thing was like a trebuchet; his new form is a lot quicker and kinda normal looking. But before, it was a trebuchet that went in, something that is not happening these days. Prior to tonight, he was 8 for 58 from deep, good for a blistering (as in my eyes blistered when I looked at the stat) 14 percent.

This is his best game of the season, scoring-wise, by far. 14 points, his first performance with double-figure scoring despite appearing in 37 games. He hit two threes, bringing his season total up a full 25 percent. He might have had only two assists, but they were both for lob dunks, one to Henson (a connection no one really saw in Milwaukee due to the way the offense was constructed), and one to Dean Wade (a connection no one outside of Cleveland has seen because no one outside of Cleveland has ever seen Dean Wade play).
