Derrick Favors 21 Points/3 Blocks Full Highlights (1/16/2020)

Everyone’s all upset about the iffy foul call on an inbound with 0.2 seconds left that sent this game into overtime, but I sympathize with the refs on this one. They, like me, just want to see more buckets. I’m surprised that so many people are protesting the prospect of more buckets, but that’s just me (and the refs). If I were a ref, I’d constantly have to be battling two conflicting notions: calling the game fairly and correctly, and wanting to see as many buckets as FRICKIN’ possible. I’m sure that’s the dichotomy that they are perpetually facing.

Let’s put it this way: if this game had not gone into overtime, you would not be receiving this Derrick Favors highlight video, because he’d only have 14 points. So cease your complaining at once! Besides, the Pelicans won anyway, and more fun was had by all because of the additional buckets that were scored.

Perhaps with this game Favors will finally get the recognition he deserves for being one of the most solidly solid bigmen in the whole league. Aw, who am I kidding? There’s nothing he can do at this point to raise his national profile besides go team-hopping and play for as many franchises as possible while remaining a super solid player. As of right now, only three teams have any idea of his true solidity, with the Nets and Pelicans only getting a very small taste so far. And everyone knows that there are no Jazz fans outside of Utah, making his excellent stretch of play there mostly irrelevant when it comes to national prestige.

He is SO SOLID though. There’s no way the Pelicans win this game without him. Brandon Ingram might be the hero, but Favors is definitely the secondary hero.

Oh yeah, and can you say REVENGE GAME?!
