With each good game that Cam “Michael Redd-ish” Reddish puts up, the lower his chances of being a total bust go. Now, by my count, he’s only had about a half-dozen performances that fall into (or at least come close to falling into) the “good” category, so his chances of being a total bust are still pretty high. But tell me: would a total bust score 22 on good efficiency with 4 steals and 4 assists in a close win against one of the premier franchises in the league?
Sure, the Spurs aren’t what they used to be, but there’s still no reason for the Hawks to win this game UNLESS Reddish decides to live up to his draft slot and actually hit some shots for once. In fact, I would go so far as to say that this counts as a SIGNATURE GAME for him. Reason being: it’s the first game of his career where he both had a good scoring performance and his team won. If he’s going to have a signature game, this is literally the only option, because scoring 25 while getting your butt kicked by the Nets doesn’t mean much of anything.
Oh yeah, and he played defense as well. I’m not a big fan of defense in general (because it prevents buckets [the most fun part of the NBA by far] from happening), but I know that a lot of people smarter than me seem to think it’s important. Him having a good defensive performance on top of scoring the ball well and beating a perpetual championship contender is just gravy.
…I sadly put away my already-inked rubber stamp that says “BUST” in big capital letters, which I was getting ready to stamp firmly onto his forehead.
