In order to be the best Isaac in NBA history, Isaac Bonga has to surpass these players:
-Isaac Austin
-Isaac Humphries
-Isaac Fontaine
-Isaac Walthour
Note: Jonathan Isaac doesn’t count because I’m only counting dudes whose first name is Isaac, not last name.
Isaac Fontaine, Bonga has already passed, and not only that, he has lapped him like 20 times at least. That dude is now 44, and scored 3 buckets in 75 minutes for the Grizzlies during the 2001-02 season. That was the only NBA action he ever saw.
Isaac Walthour was, apparently, a 5-11 guard who made even fewer buckets than Fontaine, going 1-for-6 in his 4-game NBA career with the Milwaukee Hawks. Also he’s been dead for over 40 years so there’s no way that he comes back and re-passes Bonga.
Isaac Humphries, that’s a little closer. He’s a recent player who played for the Hawks just last year, and even though he only made 6 buckets (that’s more than those other two meatballs at least), he can theoretically come back from wherever he is now and be a better Isaac than Bonga. Is it likely? Not really, but theoretically he could be the Australian Dirk or something. Actually, Bonga could be the German Dirk.
Isaac Austin, this is where Bonga is going to have to work his tail off. Proud owner of 1295 buckets, way more than the other Isaacs combined, he played in the NBA for around a decade for about a million different teams. He had one good year averaging 13 points per game, a number that Bonga has only scored in an individual game twice. Including tonight! He’s well on his way to surpassing Austin as the best Isaac in NBA history, if this career-high performance is anything to go by.
